RESPIRATORY FIT TESTING (Resp-Fit)

All employees who wear tight-fitting respirators must undergo annual fit testing to ensure the respirator forms a proper seal on their face. This test evaluates the quality of the seal. It is crucial to select the correct respirator size and shape, as this directly impacts the mask's level of protection. 

WHAT TO EXPECT ON THE DAY

You will be asked to complete a range of movements, including head side to side, head up and down, and talk to simulate movements that one would expect at the workplace.

 Fit test participants must be clean-shaven.

Each fit test will take 15-30 minutes, depending on the number of masks available for testing and the number required to pass per person. It is recommended that a range of different styles and sizes to ensure a high level of coverage across the workforce.

Each individual Fit Test 1:1 with each staff member will include:

        * Inspection of respirator for defects

        * A Quantitative CNC Fit Test with each respirator available

       • A certificate for each respirator that the staff member passes will be provided to each person

After the fit testing, a report will be provided with a summary of what has been fit tested and to which respirators.
